Noted as a good backchecker with a wicked slapshot. In later years he was one of several British players who played in exotic Kuwait when the first rink opened there in the 1970s.
Among his teammates were players like Mike O'Brien, Harry Pearson, John Cook, Tony Whithead, Fred Sandford, Tony Goldstone, Dave & Gerry Richards, Jeff Smith and John Rego. The team was managed by Clive "Nipper" Millard. They usually played two 15-minute exhibition games each night with the older guys representing Kuwait and the younger ones England. Diplomatically, the boys usually made sure that "Kuwait" won most of the time.
Moved to Perth, Australia in the late 1980s.
Passed away at the Toronto Grace Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Réputé pour être un bon attaquant défensif doté d'un tir du poignet piégeux. À la fin de sa carrière, au cours des années 1970, il fit partie de la petite colonie de joueurs britanniques qui importa le hockey sur glace au Koweït à l'ouverture de la première patinoire dans le petit émirat.
Il fut accompagné de Mike O'Brien, Harry Pearson, John Cook, Tony Whithead, Fred Sandford, Tony Goldstone, Dave & Gerry Richards, Jeff Smith et John Rego, le tout coaché par Clive "Nipper" Millard. Ils se contentaient de petites rencontres amicales d'un quart d'heure pendant lesquelles les plus âgés représentaient le Koweït et les plus jeunes, l'Angleterre. Par politesse, on laissait en général le "Koweït" l'emporter.
Fresher s'installa à Perth, en Australie, à la fin des années 1980.
Décédé au Grace Hospital de Toronto après une longue bataille avec le cancer.
