Player of Scotch heritage. He returned to Trail from London, England, and was destined for the 1939 World Championships. After a two-game exhibition series against Lethbridge he had an appendectomy operation and missed the tournament. Was a chief petty officer serving with the navy as an ordnance officer during WW II.

D'héritage écossais, il est reparti à Trail, au Canada, depuis Londres où il résidait, pour participer aux Londiaux 1939. Malheureusement pour lui, au bout de deux matches de préparation, il dut subir une appendicectomie qui lui fit manquer le tournoi. Puis éclata la guerre où il fut officier dans la marine.
