Unspectacular but steady defenseman who represented East Germany 60 times. Between 1968 and 1977 he played a total of 90 games for Dynamo Berlin, scoring 37 pts (22+15). Officially announced his retirement in October 1977. Went on to coach in ice hockey.

Défenseur sans fantaisie mais solide, récompensé par 60 sélections en équipe nationale d'Allemagne de l'Est. Inscrivit 37 points (22+15) à l'occasion des 90 matches qu'il disputa entre 1968 et 1977 avec le Dynamo Berlin dans le championnat de RDA. Arrêta de jouer en octobre 1977, on le retrouva ensuite dans différentes fonctions d'entraîneur.
