Younger brother of Sergei Fedorov, he moved to North America at the age of 16 and stayed there until the 2004 lockout drove him back to Russia. Had a brief second spell in the NHL (3 games) in 2006 before settling in Europe for good.
Great size and decent speed with superior balance. Hard to knock off the puck. Weaker defensively and not a natural goal scorer. Had a reputation of having attitude and work ethic problems.
While playing in the ECHL he sustained a detached retina in his left eye and later only had a 30% visibility on that eye.

Jeune frère du célèbre Sergei Fedorov, il fila en Amérique du Nord à 16 ans pour essayer d'entrer en NHL. De retour en Russie à l'occasion du lockout de 2004, il refit une brève apparition en NHL en 2006 (trois matches les Rangers) avant d'installer définitivement ses pénates en Russie.
Costaud, rapide, inébranlable quand il s'accroche au palet, mais pas vraiment buteur ni utile dans sa zone défensive. Problèmes de comportement notoires.
À sa décharge, il pâtit toute sa carrière d'une blessure à l'oeil gauche (décollement rétinien) contractée en ECHL à l'âge de 20 ans. Depuis, il n'a plus que 30% de visibilité à cet oeil.
