Moved with his family to New York, USA, when he was only 6 months old. Studied at Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland and then moved back to England in the late 1920s where he studied at Cambridge University.
Passed away at the Royal West Sussex Hospital in Chichester, he left more than £45000 to his widow.

Né dans une commune du grand Londres, il n'avait pas six mois quand sa famille s'installa à New York. Revint en Europe, en Suisse d'abord, pour étudier à l'Institut Le Rosey de Gstaad. À 20 ans, il fut accepté à Cambridge, ce qui marqua son retour définitif sur son île natale.
Il laissa à son épouse un héritage de 45000 livres sterling.
