His cousin Daniel Johansson was once drafted in the NHL by New York Islanders 1993. Oscar himself made his NHL-debut with the LA Kings at the start of the 2017-2018.
Solid allround defenseman with two-way skills. Positionally sound with a safety first mindset. Strong in one-on-one situations, using his stick well. Solid shot from the point. Fairly physical. Not the fastest skater around, although quite agile.

Défenseur sans défaut majeur, bien bâti, sait se placer et ne prend pas de risques inutiles. Difficile à passer en un-contre-un, utilise intelligemment sa crosse dans les duels. Solide dans l'impact physique et également offensif grâce à un puissant lancer mi-distance. Un peu lent en patinage mais agile.
