Entered the Royal Military College in Kingston 1923 and graduated with honors 1927. On graduation he joined the R.A.F. and remained with the British Air Force until August 1933. Joined the B.O.A.C. in 1938. In 1947 he was honoured by the B.O.A.C. by being made a Senior Captain First Class. At that time he had flown more than a million miles.
In 1938 he flew Prime Minister Sir Neville Chamberlain to the famous "Peace for our time" Munich conference. In 1955, he was the pilot of the British Princess Margaret (the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II) when she was on a month long visit of the British West Indies.
