Born in Whitby, ON but grew up in Oshawa, ON as the first of six children (had two brothers and three sisters).
An effortless skater and a great penalty killer. Also packed a hard and accurate shot. Scored more than a point-per-game in his career.
Was going to play in the 1958 World Championships, but broke a bone in his ankle shortly prior to the tournament, but travelled with the team as a moral support.
Retired in the early 1960s. After his retirement from ice hockey he worked as an industrial engineer for General Motors in Oshawa until 1990.
Was a devout mormon, who remained active in his church throughout his life (Didn’t play hockey on Sundays).
Passed away at University Hospital in London, ON.

Il est né à Whitby mais a grandi à Oshawa, également dans l'Ontario. Aîné d'une famille de six enfants (deux frères et trois sœurs).
Un patineur sans effort, excellent pour tuer les pénalités. Il avait aussi un tir puissant et précis. Il a marqué plus d'un point par match en carrière.
Il devait participer aux championnats du monde 1958, mais s'est cassé la cheville peu avant le tournoi. Il est resté avec l'équipe en tant que soutien moral.
Après avoir arrêté le hockey au début des années 1960, il a travaillé comme ingénieur en génie industriel chez General Motors à Oshawa jusqu'en 1990.
Mormon dévôt, actif dans son église tout au long de sa vie (il ne jouait pas au hockey le dimanche).
