His grandfathers were natives of Coufbell Town Stetterd, Argyleshire, Scotland (fathers side) and Fersfield, Norfolk, England (mothers side).
Lanky speedster who was a longtime member of the Elmwood Millionaires (Manitoba Junior Hockey League), winning both the Abbott Cup (Canadian Western champions), and the Memorial Cup (National junior champions).
Was a substitute forward at the 1932 Olympics. Played amateur hockey until 1937. After his retirement he had a long career in the oil industry.
In 1998, two years before his death, he donated his Olympic memorabilia, including a sweater, skates and a crest, to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Passed away on March 24, 2000 in Cowansville, ON.

Ses grands-parents étaient natifs de Coufbell Town Stetterd, Argyleshire, Écosse (du côté de son père) et Fersfield, Norfolk, Angleterre (du côté de sa mère).
Rapide et longiligne, il était membre de longue date des Elmwood Millionaires (Manitoba Junior Hockey League), remportant à la fois la Coupe Abbott (champion de l'ouest canadien) et la Coupe Memorial (champion national junior).
Attaquant remplaçant aux Jeux olympiques 1932. Il a joué au hockey amateur jusqu'en 1937. Après sa retraite il a fait une longue carrière dans l'industrie pétrolière.
En 1998, deux ans avant sa mort, il a légué ses souvenirs olympiques, dont un maillot, des patins et un écusson, au Hockey Hall of Fame.
Décédé le 24 mars 2000 à Cowansville, dans l'Ontario.
