Son of Polish immigrants. Red haired defenseman who liked to play a good hard physical style of hockey. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the marines to fight in World War II.
After the war, he prepped at Brewster Academy and then went to Boston University where he played football as well as hockey, scoring 37 points (15+22) in 20 games. Also a good baseball player. Died from a heart attack.
A trophy was named in his honor which is given annually to the outstanding youth hockey player in Wakefield.

Fils d'immigrants polonais et défenseur au style physique sans retenue, apprécié pour cela et sa chevelure rousse très visible sur la glace (d'où le surnom). À peine sorti de l'enseignement secondaire, il était engagé volontaire dans les marines pour participer à la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
Une fois revenu, il intégra la Brewster Academy puis l'Université de Boston où il se fit remarquer au football américain et au hockey, où il inscrivit 37 points (15+22) en 20 matches. Également remarquable au base-ball, il mourut malheureusement très jeune (43 ans) d'une attaque cardiaque.
Tous les ans, la ville de Wakefield remet un trophée à son nom au meilleur jeune hockeyeur de la ville.
