His favorite player growing up was Wayne Gretzky. As a junior he was named the best stickhandler and the most dangerous player in the goal area. Great speed and defensive awareness. Had the ability to turn defensemen inside out one-on-one. Could line up on either side of center and displayed brief flashes of offensive brilliance.
Killed penalties with aplomb. Sacrificed his body for the good of the team. Lacked the consistency of a legitimate scoring winger. Didn’t initiate physical play but didn’t hide when it occurred. Payed a physical toll which affected his overall production.

Fan de Wayne Gretzky, il se fit remarquer dans ses années juniors par son maniement de la crosse et son efficacité dans le slot. Rapide, lucide défensivement, très bon dans le un-contre-un, il pouvait occuper les trois postes de l'offensive et connaître des inspirations fulgurantes.
Souvent employé en infériorité où il faisait don de son corps à la cause. On remarque à son bilan qu'il a en fin de compte assez peu pointé. Son engagement physique lui a certainement coûté de nombreuses heures de jeu en bonne santé, ce qui finit par se voir dans les stats.
