Younger brother of Stefan Chowaniec. Also nicknamed "Obrotowy". Was involved in a serious car accident in 1976 that nearly ended his playing career.
Six time Polish league champion, scoring 129 (79+50) points in 415 games. Represented Poland 61 times (3 goals).
Played four seasons in Germany and one in Yugoslavia before retiring in 1992.

Frère cadet de Stefan Chowaniec, on le surnomme aussi "Obrotowy". Un grave accident de voiture survenu en 1976 faillit mettre un terme prématuré à sa carrière.
Elle prit tout de même son envol et lui permit de glaner six titres de champion de Pologne, avec 129 points (79+50) inscrits au long de 415 matches. 61 sélections nationales (3 buts).
Passa quatre saisons en Allemagne et une en Yougoslavie avant de tirer sa révérence en 1992.
