He started ice hockey when Wales National Ice Rink opened in 1986/87. He was 14. He started training in just a track suit with first Cardiff coach Perry Olivier.
A powerhouse forward with a solid frame, being 6'2" (189cm) and 222 lbs (101kg).
Used on every forward position. One of the most talented and impactful ice hockey players in modern British history.
Won the Young British Player of the Year Award in 1990/91 and as a result of that spent time at the Calgary Flames Training Camp, including a IHL preseason game with their farm team Salt Lake City.
Arrested twice for on-ice incidents. In 1995 he caused a serious eye injury to an opponent and was initially arrested, spending six hours in police custody. In 2008 he was arrested for a pre-game brawl.
More than 1200 points in his career and a lot of penalties.
Nevertheless his so-called 2 penalty minutes during 1994 World Championships shouldn't be counted into his stats. It was a team penalty (too many men).

Il a commencé le hockey quand la Wales National Ice Rink, la première patinoire galloise, a ouvert à Cardiff en 1986/87.
Âgé de 14 ans, il fit sses premiers entraînements habillé en survêtement sous la conduite du premier entraîneur du club Perry Olivier.
Attaquant surpuissant de constitution solide, puisqu'il mesure 1,89m pour 101 kilos. Pouvant jouer à tous les postes de l'offensive, devenu un des meilleurs attaquants de l'histoire du hockey sur glace britannique.
Nommé jeune joueur britannique de l'année pour la saison 1990-1991, prix qui lui valut un séjour au camp d'entraînement des Flames de Calgary et un match de présaison avec leur équipe-ferme d'IHL à Salt Lake City.
Arrêté à deux reprises pour des incidents survenus sur la glace. En 1995, il fut arrêté et passa six heures en garde à vue pour une sérieuse blessure à l'oeil infligée à un adversaire. À nouveau interpellé pour une bagarre d'avant-match en 2008, à 36 ans, preuve que le temps ne fait rien à l'affaire.
Plus de 1200 points en carrière et, on l'a compris, pas mal d'heures de prison.
Toutefois, la pénalité qui lui est attribuée dans les statistiques du Mondial 1994 ne devrait pas lui être imputée : il s'agit d'une pénalité d'équipe pour surnombre qu'il a purgée.
