Both of his parents were born in Québec in Canada.
His father was still an active skater at the age of 70, a fact Larry always was proud of.
Played competitive ice hockey for almost 20 years. Speedy skater and excellent defensive player. Fought in World War II.
Playing coach for USA in 1951. Continued to coach the Bates Manufacturers after the World Championships.
He is buried at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Fils de deux Québécois très portés sur la glace. Son père patinait encore à l'âge de 70 ans, ce dont Larry était fort fier.
Lui-même a joué à un niveau respectable pendant vingt ans, entrecoupés par la Seconde Guerre mondiale à laquelle il prit part.
Rapide sur patins, très bon dans le repli défensif, il était assez en forme pour assurer à 36 ans la fonction d'entraîneur-joueur de la sélection américaine aux Mondiaux 1951. Continua par la suite à entraîner et jouer avec les Bates Manufacturers.
Décédé à 86 ans, enterré au Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
