Had the misfortune to be stuck on the Italian national team in the 1980s behind Jim Corsi and Nick Sanza.
Capone’s highlight on the national team came during the 1984 Olympics when Corsi was suspended for a game. Capone got the chance to play against the Soviets, and made a heroic effort, saving 61 shots in a 1-5 loss.
Played for HC Merano and HC Milano, retiring in 1992.

Eut la malchance d'atteindre son pic de forme dans les années 1980, grande époque de Jim Corsi et Nick Sanza, derrière lesquels il fut irrémédiablement coincé.
Capone ne connut les feux de la rampe qu'à une reprise, lors des Jeux olympiques de 1984 à Sarajevo, quand il dut remplacer Corsi suspendu pour une rencontre face à l'URSS. Il limita les dégâts à 1-5 en faveur des Rouges, en arrêtant 61 tirs.
Joueur du HC Merano et du HC Milan, il prit sa retraite en 1992.
