Multitalented sportsman. As a hockey player he was an elegant skating player with soft hands and cool in deciding moments in front of the goal.
Always very fit conditionwise. Technical.
Solid in all three zones. His parents thought his education was the most important thing, and he didn’t start playing hockey until he was 13.
Scored 306 goals in 320 league games.
Had 570 (387+183) career points in 395 games. Won eleven league titles.
Captained Brno for nine years and the national team between 1960-64.
Played mostly on a line with Bronislav Danda and Slavomir Barton, later Vaclav Pantucek was the third guy.
Finished his career with three seasons in Austria, retiring in 1971.
Scored 121 goals in 127 games for Czechoslovakia. Became a coach later on in Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia.
Also an excellent football player, winning a bronze medal at the European Championships in 1960 and also turned down an invitation to the World Championships.
Also very good at table tennis and basketball. Was a gardener.
Had a heart operation in later years. Inducted into the Czech and IIHF Hockey Hall of Fame.

Sportif accompli. En tant qu'hockeyeur il était un patineur élégant possédant de bonnes mains et serein dans ses décisions en face de la cage.
Toujours bien préparé. Technique.
Solide dans les trois zones. Ses parents ont jugé que son éducation était la plus importante, de fait il ne commença pas le hockey avant ses 13 ans.
Auteur de 306 buts en 320 matchs de championnat tchécoslovaque.
Il totalise 570 (387+183) points dans ses 395 parties en carrière. Il remporta onze titres.
Capitaine de Brno durant neuf ans et de l'équipe de Tchécoslovaquie de 1960 à 1964.
Il jouait principalement sur la même ligne que Bronislav Danda et Slavomir Barton, plus tard Vaclav Pantucek sera le troisième homme.
Il termina sa carrière par trois saisons à Feldkirch en Autriche, se retirant en 1971.
Auteur de 121 buts en 127 rencontres en sélection. Il devint plus tard entraîneur en Yougoslavie et en Tchécoslovaquie.
Excellent footballeur, médaillé de bronze durant l'Euro 1960 et ayant refusé une sélection pour la Coupe du Monde.
Très bon également au tennis de table et au basketball. Il était jardinier de profession.
Il a subi une opération du coeur dans ses dernières années. Intronisé au Hall of Fame du hockey tchèque et de l'IIHF.
