Outstanding offensive instincts and game-changing ability.
A wizard with the puck. Inconsistent battling for pucks and finishing checks. Not shooting enough.
Good composure and understanding of the game. Decent skater but lacking the quick first step.
Changed his attitude as a junior and improved his work ethic.
Elected on the All-Star team of the World junior championships 2008 and of the World championships 2011.
Brynäs broke his contract in September 2021 after a five-month controversy. Berglund had been sued for a sexual assault on his former girlfriend but the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence.

Centre astucieux avec un gabarit imposant (192 cm, 93 kg). Des instincts offensifs exceptionnels qui peuvent renverser un match.
Un magicien avec le palet. Inconstant dans les duels et pour finir ses charges. Il ne prend pas assez de lancers.
Du sang-froid et une bonne compréhension du jeu. Patineur convenable mais pas assez rapide au démarrage.
Il a changé d'attitude en junior et a amélioré son éthique de travail.
Élu sur l'équipe-type du Mondial junior 2008 puis sur celle des championnats du monde 2011.
Brynäs a mis fin à son contrat en septembre 2021 après cinq mois d'une controverse très pesante. Berglund était en effet poursuivi pour agression sexuelle sur son ex-campagne, même si la justice suédoise a conclu à un non-lieu faute de preuves.
