Good nose for the net and liked to shoot a lot on the fly.
Turned down an offer to play in the NHL with the New York Americans in 1938/39 in order to tour Europe and play at the World Championships with Trail Smoke Eaters.
Was bothered by a bad back for a few years and retired in 1949.
Scored 437 (284+153) career points in 381 games.
Was one of the eight (out of ten) surviving members of the 1939 World Championship team that gathered for a team reunion in British Columbia 1978. Worked as a carpenter in the late 1930s.
