His father was from New Hampshire and his mother from Canada.
Was good at both hockey and baseball.
He played for Lewiston High School and Lewiston St.Doms in the 1930s.
Midi was noted for his booming shot. Also played for Lewiston Knights of Columbus „Casey“. Served in WW II, both in Italy and France.
Early in 1945 he was mistakenly identified as a spy.
While serving with an artillery company in France he was given a pass to a small town well behind enemy lines. As he was alone he drew suspicion from French employees of the US Army. Even after showing his „dog-tags“ and other identification he wasn’t believed.
After a grueling interview he was finally let go. Coached local senior hockey teams.
Purchased Seaward Hotel in 1964 and later owned Redwood Motel.

Il a joué pour Lewiston High School et Lewiston St.Doms dans les années 1930.
Midi était connu pour son lancer qui montait en puissance. Il a également joué pour Lewiston Knights de Columbus „Casey“. Il a officié lors de la seconde guerre mondiale, en Italie et en France.
En début d'année 1945, il fut identifié par erreur comme un espion.
Tout en servant pour une compagnie d'artillerie en France, il reçut un laissez-passer pour une petite ville au delà des lignes ennemies. Comme il partit seul, il attira les soupçons d'employés français de l'US Army. Même après avoir montré sa plaque militaire et d'autres identifications, il ne fut pas cru.
Après un entretien exténuant il fut enfin libéré. Il entraîna des équipes de hockey séniors.
Il acheta l'hôtel Seaward en 1964 et fut plus tard propriétaire du Redwood Motel.
