Son of Józef Batkiewicz. Began playing organized ice hockey at the age of ten.
Won five junior league titles and seven senior titles.
Played for Podhale Nowy Targ, Cracovia Kraków, KTH Krynica, Górnik Katowice.
Represented Poland 66 times. Voted as the best goaltender at the 1993 Pool B World Championships.
Played 438 league games and posted 41 shutouts. Retired in 2005.
Sports director for Podhale Nowy Targ. Became the goaltender coach for the Polish national teams in 2011.

Fils de Józef Batkiewicz. Il a commencé à jouer au hockey en club à l'âge de dix ans.
Il a remporté cinq fois le championnat junior et sept fois le championnat sénior.
Il a joué au Podhale Nowy Targ, au Cracovia Kraków, KTH Krynica, et au Górnik Katowice.
