Good skater. Good first pass.
Son of Turkish immigrants. His father came to Germany in the 1980′s to work, but could not get a residence permit for his wife. So while she was pregnant with Sinan the German Foreigners Branch decided to deport her. A court decision at the last moment entitled Sinan and his mother to stay in Germany.
The family lived near Rosenheim ice hockey arena. The club became German champion the year Sinan was born and his father got an increased interest towards ice hockey.
When he was four, his father introduced him to ice hockey.
Together with Yasin Ehliz they were the first two players of Turkish descent on the German national team. Entered Düsseldorf business school.
He lived seven years in Krefeld and met his wife there. German champion 2015 and 2019 with Mannheim. Joined Düsseldorf in 2023.

Bon patineur avec une bonne première passe.
Son histoire est édifiante. Son père a immigré dans les années 1980 de Turquie vers l'Allemagne de l'Ouest pour y travailler mais ne parvint pas à obtenir un permis de séjour pour son épouse. Bien qu'enceinte de Sinan, celle-ci allait être renvoyée en Turquie quand une décision de justice lui accorda le droit de s'installer sur le territoire allemand. À Rosenheim, pour être précis, où le jeune Sinan apprit le hockey entouré des siens.
La famille vivait à côté de la patinoire de Rosenheim. Le SBR fut champion d'Allemagne pendant que Sinan était dans le ventre sa mère et son père se prit de passion pour le hockey. Ainsi, dès quatre ans, Sinan poussait ses premiers palets.
Lui et Yasin Ehliz sont les deux premiers joueurs d'origine turque à avoir porté le maillot de la Mannschaft. Sinan Akdağ a intégré l'école de commerce de Düsseldorf.
Il a vécu sept années à Krefeld et y a rencontré sa femme (originaire de Mönchengladbach). Champion d'Allemagne 2015 et 2019 avec Mannheim, il a ensuite rejoint Düsseldorf en 2023.
