Of Greek ancestry. Family name originally was Adamakos.
A good reliable two-way player in later years who often played on the second or third lines. Known for his work ethic and perseverance.
Managed to play 17 NHL seasons despite various nagging injuries.
Came within one game to win the Stanley Cup in 1994 when the Canucks lost the seventh and deciding final game against the Rangers. Retired in 2003 after a season in Germany.
After his playing career he invested in the Bear Mountain Resort development located on Vancouver Island and with Compro Sports – a growing hockey stick manufacturing firm based in Alberta. In 2009 he earned a real estate license and worked as a real estate agent in Phoenix, AZ.

Vaincu avec les Canucks lors du septième match de la finale de Coupe Stanley en 1994, finalement remportée par les New York Rangers. S'arrête à 40 ans après une saison en Allemagne.
Revenu en Amérique du Nord, il investit dans le développement du Bear Moutain Resort, une station de tourisme située sur Vancouver Island, et dans Compro Sports, un fabricant de crosses basé dans l'état d'Alberta. Devenu agent immobilier en 2009 dans l'agglomération de Phoenix, en Arizona.
