Had five brothers and one sister. Began with sports at the age of six and skating when he was eight. His father was a sportsman and rather wealthy. Always a very fair player. Excelled in many sports, and is regarded as one of the most versatile Polish athletes of all time. He was good at track and field, football, skiing, speed skating and ice hockey. After finishing his career, he became a referee, coach and sports official.
Was chosen Polish athlete of the year in 1926. Represented Poland in football (23 times, 5 goals) at the 1924 Summer Olympic games and became a four time Polish football champion (1922, 23, 25, 26). Was the top football scorer in 1922 and 1926. For Pogon Lwów he scored an incredible 1065 goals in 1126 games during a 23-year playing career.
He was also a Polish track and field champion at 800-meters (1920, 1921), 110-meter hurdles (1920), 400-meter hurdles (1923), high jump (1921, 1923) and pentathlon (1923, 1924).
He participated in the 1925 European speed skating championships. Was a 22-time Speed skating champion of Poland between 1922-1929. Polish ice hockey champion in 1933. Also worked as an LIHG referee. Fought in WW I where he had the rank of captain and was decorated with several medals for his participation against the bolsheviks.

Issu d'une fratrie de sept, cinq frères et une soeur. Commence le sport à six ans, le patinage à huit. Fils d'un athlète assez riche, Waclaw peut donc s'adonner à tous les sports avec application mais sans acrimonie, ce qui fera de lui un joueur au fair-play exemplaire. Surtout excellent au football même s'il pratique aussi le hockey sur glace, l'athlétisme, le ski, le patinage de vitesse et, après sa carrière, deviendra arbitre et entraîneur. Élu athlète de l'année en Pologne en 1926, il compte 23 sélections et cinq buts pour l'équipe nationale de football, dont il fait partie du tout premier onze en 1922 et de la sélection olympique en 1924. Joueur du Pogon Lwów quand l'actuelle Lviv était polonaise, il sera quatre fois champion national de football (1922, 1923, 1925 et 1926) et meilleur buteur du championnat en 1922 et 1926. En 23 ans, il inscrira 1065 buts en 1126 matches (la plupart amicaux) pour le Pogon Lwów.
Également champion de Pologne en 800 mètres (1920, 1921), en 110 mètres haies (1921), en 400 mètres haies (1923), en saut en hauteur (1921, 1923) et en pentathlon (1923, 1924).
Prend part aux championnats d'Europe de patinage de vitesse en 1925. Obtient 22 titres de champion de Pologne de patinage de vitesse entre 1922 et 1929. Champion de Pologne de hockey sur glace en 1933. Devient arbitre pour la LIHG après sa carrière de joueur. Capitaine dans l'armée polonaise après la Première Guerre mondiale, il reçut de nombreuses décorations à ce titre dans les combats contre les bolcheviks.
