Son of Ernst Köpf Sr. There were high expectations on him due to his father and what he had accomplished in hockey. He was always compared to his father, and could never live up to the expectations. Had good skills but wasn’t as strong mentally due to the above reasons. Two time league champion in Germany. Retired in 1999.

En tant que fils d'Ernst Köpf, il fut d'emblée confronté à des attentes démesurées et, malgré un indéniable talent, ne parvint jamais à combler les promesses associées à son nom. Fragile mentalement pour d'évidentes raisons. Champion d'Allemagne 1988 avec Cologne et 1993 avec Düsseldorf. Fin de carrière en 1999.
