Kopecký was a versatile two-way forward with fine allround instincts. He had really good size and a heavy shot. He could play all three forward positions. Was more of a skilled grinder than a constant offensive threat. He didn’t always use his size to the best of his capabilities.
First Slovakian player to win the Stanley Cup two times. Retired during the 2016/17 season.

Attaquant défensif et complet, jamais perdu sur la glace. Utilisait sa belle envergure (1,90m, 95kg) pour faire impact sur le jeu, même s'il manquait parfois d'intelligence corporelle. Capable de prendre les trois positions de l'attaque, il était davantage lutteur que joueur dominant.
Premier Slovaque à remporter deux Coupes Stanley (avec les Wings et les Blackhawks). Achève sa carrière en 2017 après être revenu en Europe.
