Versatile player who spent his childhood skating and playing ice hockey in parks around Warsaw. Came to Legia Warszawa when he was 14 years old. As a 13-year old he was only 137cm (4'5") tall and weighed 37 kg (81 lbs). Made his league debut as a 15-year old and played on the wing on a line with Zbigniew Skotnicki and Ludwik Dutkiewicz.
In 1965 he shifted to a center position. Top point scorer in the league 1967 when he formed a dangerous line with Bronislaw Gosztyla and Jozef Manowski. In 1970 he played as a defenseman in the league. At the 1971 Pool B World Championships, he formed a defensive tandem with Adam Kopczynski. Played 17 years in Legia Warszawa, scoring 223 goals in 470 games.
Polish player of the year in 1967. Represented Poland 67 times. Finished his playing career in Austria and retired in 1981.
His grandson Filip Komorski (b. 1991) is a stalwart in Polish league and a Polish international.

Komorski découvre le hockey très tôt mais, jusqu'à 14 ans, il le pratique sur les lacs gelés dans l'hiver de Varsovie. Cela, allié à un déficit de taille (seulement 1,37m et 37kg à 13 ans), lui vaut d'acquérir un panel varié de compétences et de pouvoir jouer partout, un atout dont se saisit le Legia qui enrôle le petit Włódźimierz en 1958. Un an plus tard, il débute en première sur l'aile de Zbigniew Skotnicki et Ludwik Dutkiewicz.
En 1965, il s'installe au centre où il donne enfin sa pleine mesure. Meilleur pointeur du championnat polonais et joueur polonais de l'année en 1967 quand on lui adjoint Jozef Manowski et Bronislaw Gosztyla. Mais il n'a pas fini de migrer sur la glace ! En 1970, il recule en défense. Ni une ni deux, il devient titulaire à ce poste en équipe de Pologne, associé à Adam Kopczynski pour les Mondiaux B 1971. En tout, il aura disputé 470 rencontres pour le Legia en 17 ans, avec 223 buts à la clé, en plus de 67 matchs sous le maillot de la Pologne. Tire sa référence en 1981 après un séjour dans le championnat d'Autriche.
Son petit-fils Filip Komorski, né en 1991, est un bon joueur du championnat polonais et un international pour son pays.
