Began skating at the age of four and play ice hockey at the age of five. Learned to play hockey beside a parking lot near his house and on a nearby lake. His six-year-older brother Maksim also played the sport and Anton grew up idolizing him.
He didn’t have the size but had good speed with some explosiveness. Spent almost his entire career playing for Ust-Kamenogorsk where he won four league titles. Scored more than 300 career points in over 600 games. Retired in 2011.
Stayed in hockey and coached junior teams in Kazakhstan.

Commence à patiner à quatre ans et découvre le hockey un an plus tard. Pas dans une patinoire ad hoc mais sur un parking derrière chez lui et sur un lac gelé l'hiver. Il fut entraîné par son frère Maksim, de six ans son aîné, qui eut un parcours similaire au sien mais ne participa jamais à un Mondial élite avec le Kazakhstan.
Anton Komissarov lui-même n'était pas très grand du point de vue des standards du hockey (1,78m) mais il était explosif et très bon patineur. A passé sa carrière en championnat du Kazakhstan (avec le Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk), le remportant quatre fois. Plus de 300 points en 600 matches environ.
À la retraite depuis 2011, il s'est recyclé dans l'encadrement des jeunes hockeyeurs de son pays.
