Good skills to be an offensive defenseman, with above average stickhandling and passing. His speed and skating ability always allowed him to weave through traffic and carry the puck through the neutral zone with a fair amount of ease. Excellent at reading plays but only average defensively in his own zone.
Pretty aggressive style of game for a defenseman of his slight stature and a bit of a mean streak. Could take retaliatory penalties and getting himself out of position trying make a big hit. The combination of his small stature and playing with reckless abandon caused him to wear down during seasons.
He was drafted in the NHL by Vancouver 2002. Attended a couple of NHL training camps but never made the final cut and played in the AHL. In Russia he played for six different teams over the years, winning two league titles in Ufa thanks to his high hockey IQ.

Défenseur offensif, passeur au-dessus de la moyenne, maîtrise étonnante de la crosse. Rapide et agile, il était capable de se faufiler dans la neutre avec une insolente facilité. Excellente vision du jeu, mais moins efficace - et moins pressé d'y retourner - quand il s'agissait de défendre sa propre zone.
Ne lésinait pourtant pas sur l'agressivité et parfois la méchanceté pour compenser sa taille modeste (1,78m). Cela lui valait des pénalités faciles et même à l'occasion de quitter sa position seulement pour se venger d'une charge. À jouer ainsi, sans calcul et avec une ardeur démesurée, il finissait mal les saisons.
Drafté en 2002 par les Canucks, il n'a fait que deux saisons en AHL (2003-2005). C'est donc en Russie qu'il s'est taillé une carrière, représentant six clubs et remportant deux titres de champion national avec Oufa grâce à son intelligence de jeu.
