Emerged as one of the most talented Polish players of his generation. Played senior hockey already in 1965 at the age of 14. Small but quick and had natural scoring instincts. Opportunistic player around the goal.
Voted to the All-Star Team at the 1977 Pool B World Championships. Voted Polish player and forward of the year in 1980, also made the All-Star team in 1980 and 1981. Played many years abroad in Austria, Italy and West Germany. Finished his playing career in Dinslaken, Germany in 1987 and later coached the club.
He later settled down and lived in Dinslaken.

Un des meilleurs joueurs polonais de sa génération, celle qui vainquit l'URSS à Katowice en 1976, et sans doute aussi de l'histoire de son pays. Lancé chez les seniors en 1965, à quatorze ans seulement, car il ne misait pas sur son physique (1,71m seulement) mais sur son flair du buteur et son opportunisme devant la cage.
Reçut plusieurs distinctions : élu dans l'équipe-type du Mondial B 1977, meilleur joueur de l'année en Pologne en 1980 et dans l'équipe-type du championnat cette année-là, puis à nouveau en 1981. Autorisé à 30 ans à quitter le pays pour services rendus, il jouera en Autriche, en Italie puis dans les divisions inférieures allemandes, à Landsberg puis Dinslaken où il mettra terme à sa carrière de joueur. Entraînera aussi le club de cette ville où il finit par s'installer.
