Played both football and hockey when growing up, and was quite successful in both sports, but chose hockey in the end. Known for his fine stick technique and elusiveness.
When retired in 2005, he was the top scorer in points (664, 277+387) and had most games (657) in Sparta Sarpsborg history. Represented Norway 51 times. Became a hockey coach.
