Noted as a very humble, sincere and hard working player. Born and raised in Gubakha. Began skating at the age of six and first played hockey for the local club Metafraks before joining the main club in the area, Molot Perm. Displayed a good deal of talent and had many offers to join more well established clubs during his junior years. Won two KHL Gagarin Cups with SKA St.Petersburg (2015 and 2017). Retired with the most shorthanded goals in the KHL (19).
Organized his farewell game in December 2023. It was announced that an indoor skating rink had been built in his native Gubakha and that hus number 40 would be retired by SKA. He became the club's development coach.

Joueur modeste, sincère et dur à la tâche. Il patine à six ans et s'inscrit au club de sa ville d'enfance, le Metafraks, avant de rejoindre le principal club de la région, le Molot Perm. Le talent qu'on ne tarda pas à lui déceler lui valut une cour assidue de la part de tous les gros clubs russes de la décennie 2000. Après s'être pas mal baladé, il a fini au SKA Saint-Pétersbourg avec lequel il a remporté deux éditions de la KHL (2015, 2017) sans jamais s'installer en Sbornaïa. Retraité en 2023 comme le meilleur buteur en infériorité numérique de l'histoire de la KHL (19 buts).
Il a organisé son jubilé en décembre 2023. il y fut annoncé qu'une patinoire couverte avait été créée dans sa ville natale de Gubakha, et que le SKA - dont il est devenu entraîneur chargé du développement des joueurs - retirerait son numéro 40.
