Wellknown local athlete in New Brunswick, Canada, where he studied. Later on he went to Germany to study medicine.
After having finished his medical studies in Europe, he moved to Boston where he practiced as a veterinarian.
Became a US citizen in 1927. Was President of the Veterinary Medical Association.
Inducted into the German and IIHF Hockey Hall of Fame.

Athlète réputé dans sa province natale du Nouveau-Brunswick, au Canada, où il fut scolarisé avant de se former à la médecine en Allemagne.
Au terme de ses études européennes, il revint sur le continent américain, à Boston, où il s'installa en tant que vétérinaire.
Naturalisé américain en 1927, il deviendra président de l'Association nationale des vétérinaires.
Introduit au Hall of Fame du hockey allemand.
