At the 1978 Pool B World Championships, he was chosen to the All-Star team and was voted as the best goaltender of the tournament.
He was also voted the best goaltender at the 1982 Pool C World Championships.
Assistant coach for the Japanese national team during the 1992 Asian Cup win.

Petit gardien de 1 mètre 70 possédant une excellente agilité.
Lors des Mondiaux B de 1978, il fut élu dans l'équipe-type et désigné meilleur gardien du tournoi.
Il fut également désigné meilleur gardien des Mondiaux C de 1982.
Entraîneur-adjoint de la sélection japonaise lors de la victoire en Coupe d'Asie en 1992.
