Both his parents were born in Ireland. He had at least eight siblings.
A jovial fellow who didn’t take his hockey as seriously as he should have.
He liked to joke around and always kept his teammates happy. Quick and technical player.
A great talent but didn’t have the heart in it 100%.
At one time a good american football player with the Fighting Irish, but seriously injured his knee, ending his football career.
While attending Notre Dame he was known as “Father O’Holland”.

Ses deux parents sont nés en Irlande et il avait au moins huit frères et soeurs.
Un camarade jovial qui ne prenait pas le hockey aussi sérieusement qu’il aurait dû le faire.
Il aimait plaisanter et rendre ses coéquipiers joyeux. Rapide et technique.
Beaucoup de talent mais qu’il n’a jamais utilisé à 100%.
Il fut aussi un bon joueur de football américain avec les Fighting Irish, mais s’est sérieusement blessé au genou, mettant fin à sa carrière dans ce sport.
Quand il était à l'université Notre-Dame, on le surnommait "Père O’Holland".
