When he passed away he was described as being huge physically, standing at almost 2 m (6-7).
However, that was not true. He was just of above average height.
Used to keep in shape during the summers by joining the local gymnastics club Rotweiss Basel.
Captained Switzerland at the 1954 World Championships.
Was primarily a defenseman but occasionally played as a forward.
Retired in 1961 and went on to coach Winterthur.

Quand il est décédé, il a été décrit comme impressionnant physiquement, mesurant pratiquement 2 mètres.
Mais ce n’était pas vrai, il était juste au-dessus de la taille moyenne.
Il se maintenait en forme l’été en rejoignant le club de gymmnastique local du Rotweiss Bâle.
Capitaine de la Suisse aux Mondiaux de 1954.
Principalement défenseur, il a joué occasionnellement en attaque.
Retraité en 1961, il a été entraîneur pour Winterthour.
