Was not supposed to play in the 1952 Olympics, but when the No.1 goalie got injured in the game vs USA, he had to step in.
Represented Poland on 20 occasions.
In the late 1950s he was hit by a puck straight on his mouth, knocking out all of his front teeth.
Died of gas poisoning in his apartment in Katowice at the age of 29.
Some sources wrongfully puts his death at 1975.

Il n'était pas censé jouer lors des Jeux olympiques 1952, mais quand le titulaire s'est blessé lors du match contre les États-Unis, il a dû rentrer à sa place.
Il a représenté la Pologne en 20 occasions.
À la fin des années 1950, un palet l'a atteint en pleine bouche, déchaussant toutes ses dents de devant.
