Born in Dayton, OH but grew up in Englewood, OH.
Started skating when a neighbor brought him to a local rink. Soon, his father was flooding the family tennis court to provide Jeff and his brother with a skating rink.
Plenty of offensive skills. Good instincts and hockey sense. Could play any forward position and the point on the power play.
Hard worker and hustler. Lacked the size and strength to make an impact on the NHL.
Known as a practical joker who always made his teammates laugh.
He married the sister of former hockey player Helen Resor who won two World Championship gold medals and one silver medal, as well as an Olympic bronze.

Retired in 2011. Went on to coach in junior hockey.

Il est né à Dayton mais a grandi à Englewood, également dans l'Ohio.
Il a commencé à patiner quand un voisin l'a amené à la patinoire locale. Rapidement, son père inonda le court de tennis familial pour procurer à Jeff et à son frère une patinoire d'entraînement.
Beaucoup de qualités offensives, de bons instincts et un sens du hockey. Il pouvait jouer à toutes les positions en attaque et à la ligne bleue en supériorité numérique.
Gros travailleur combatif qui manquait de taille et de poids pour avoir un impact en NHL.
Réputé comme un blagueur qui faisait toujours rire ses coéquipiers.
Il a épousé la soeur de l'ancienne hockeyeuse Helen Resor qui a remporté deux médailles d'or et une médaille d'argent aux championnats du monde, ainsi que le bronze olympique.
77 points (32+45) en 157 parties de saison régulière de NHL. Retraité en 2011 et devenu entraîneur dans le hockey junior.
