Served as a wireless gunner in WW II for the Canadian Air Force, stationed in Canada, Bahamas and India.
Hardnosed player who was the playing coach and captain for Canada at the 1951 World Championships. Became an ice hockey coach.
Worked at a ranch outside Medicine Hat, AB, and remained in the ranching business for many years.

A passé son enfance à Medicine Hat, dans l'Alberta. A passé son hockey junior chez les Regina Pats.
Mitrailleur aéroporté pour la Canadian Air Force pendant la Deuxième guerre mondiale, posté au Canada, aux Bahamas et en Inde.
Joueur de caractère qui fut à la fois capitaine et entraîneur-joueur du Team Canada aux Mondiaux 1951. Devenu ensuite entraîneur tout court.
Travaillait dans un ranch situé à la lisière de Medicine Hat, et fit l'intégralité de sa carrière pro "civile" dans le domaine de l'élevage et du fermage.
