Played for Steaua Bucureşti between 1963 and 1982.
Won thirteen league titles as a senior and one as a junior.
Also a ten-time winner of the Romanian cup.
Went on to coach Steaua Bucureşti between 1983 and 1990.
Coached the team to eight league and six cup titles.
Moved to Milan, Italy where he worked as an advisor in questions regarding Romania.

A entraîné le Steaua entre 1983 et 1990, gagnant 8 championnats et 6 coupes.
A déménagé à Milan où il travaille comme conseiller sur les questions au sujet de la Roumanie.
