Son of Bob Gaudreau. Was a defenseman during his last season in College before switching back to his usual forward position.
Speedy player who scored 10 goals in his first 10 NHL-games, including the first two hattricks in San José Sharks history.
In his first NHL season he formed a line together with Kelly Kisio and Johan Garpenlöv.
Did not have the passion and fire anymore and felt burned out, retiring in 1997 at the age of 27.
He had previously graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences. After his retirement from professional hockey he put his education to good use, and joined his fathers Real Estate firm and was one of the founders of Cathedral Development Group, Inc.

Joueur rapide qui a marqué 10 buts à ses 10 premiers matches NHL, parmi lesquels les deux premiers coups de chapeau de l’histoire des Sharks de San José.
À sa première saison NHL, formait une ligne avec Kelly Kisio et Johan Garpenlöv.
N’avait plus la passion et le feu sacré, se retire en 1997 à l’âge de 27 ans. Auparavant diplômé en sciences sociales au Providence College.
Après sa retraite, il rejoignit son père dans son entreprise immobilière et fut l’un des fondateurs de Cathedral Development Group.
