Nice stick-handler who also had a fine shot. His greatest asset though was his willingness to work for the team. He was a substitute player at the 1920 Olympics and was dubbed "the useful sub" because of his versatility. He scored the game winning goal against Sweden in his only Olympic game.
He played amateur hockey in Winnipeg until his retirement in 1929. He then relocated to Edmonton, Alberta, there he briefly coached Edmonton Enarcos and later coached University of Alberta.
He gave up his coaching career after a serious illness. He recovered but moved back to Winnipeg where he found work as an accountant. Unfortunately he fell ill once again in 1937, was hospitalized and passed away in the hospital at the age of 40.
