His grandparents were originally from Belgium (Beauvechain and Huppaye). Known to be a very superstitious player. Once the day before the 1935 Western Canada final vs North Battleford, he managed to stop a local newspaper from printing his teams picture. He believed that if the picture was published before the game, his team would lose the game.
Fearless on defense and noted as a wizard at ragging the puck when shorthanded. Was a veteran player with the Port Arthur Bearcats in 1936, serving as the teams captain. Was part of the Canadian 1936 Olympic team but did not play any games.
He played a total of fifteen seasons for Port Arthur and scored 143 (94+49) career points in 312 games. Announced his retirement after the 1937-38 season.

Descendait de grands-parents originaires de Belgique, plus précisément de Beauvechain et Huppaye, dans le Brabant wallon. Friday était un joueur très superstitieux, au point que la veille d'une finale de la ligue amateur du Canada oriental qu'il devait disputer contre North Battleford, il fit tout son possible pour qu'un journal local n'imprime pas la photo d'effectif de sa propre équipe, les Port Arthur Bearcats. Selon lui, cela portait malheur.
Défenseur intrépide, réputé capable de chiper le palet dans des positions impossibles, même en situation d'infériorité. Devenu capitaine des Bearcats en 1936, justement l'année où il fut retenu pour les JO sans y prendre part à la moindre rencontre.
Disputa en tout quinze saisons avec Port Arthur, pour un total de 312 matches et 143 points (94+49). Tira sa révérence en l'été 1938.
