04-09-1943 Pisa, ITA

Came from a very prominent and influential family (Baron) who originated from Moncalvo. They held key positions in the military and as politicians. The family, one of the richest in Italy, had several estates and used to invite many prominent guests over the years, like Garibaldi, Gioberti, Mazzini, Minghetti, Ojetti, Pellico and Lord Palmerston (British Minister) to name a few.
In 1935 he married the very wealthy Countess, Camilla Barbiano di Belgiojoso. His daughter born 1936, was only 20 years old when she died. Tancredi himself was an engineer and a pilot in the Royal Air Force during WW II.
His mother Adele Stella, a Baroness, was killed during an allied air raid in Pisa on August 31, 1943. As soon as he heard about it, he took off in a plane on September 4 and headed to Pisa, but crashed before reaching his destination. Since he had taken off without permission from his commanders, his widow never received any army pension.
