Always fought hard between the pipes.
Many injuries during his career did not take away any of his enthusiasm for the sport.
Led his village team Wessling to the highest German division in 1958/59.
Then he went to Bad Tölz and became German champion in 1961/62.
Retired in 1962 after having been hit by a puck in the face. He suffered a compound fracture of the jaw.
Also a hockey referee, from the 1957 World Championships to the mid-70s in the Bundesliga.
Operated a beverage shop for 40 years in Wessling.
Had detoriating health for the last 20 years and passed away at the local hospital in Tutzing.

Il s'est toujours durement battu dans les cages, en l'absence de masque.
De nombreuses blessures n'ont jamais altéré son enthousiasme pour son sport.
Il a emmené son équipe de village Wessling jusqu'au plus haut niveau du championnat allemand en 1958/59.
Il est ensuite parti à Bad Tölz et est devenu champion d'Allemagne en 1961/62.
Retraité en 1962 après avoir reçu un palet dans le visage. Il a souffert d'une fracture grave de la mâchoire.
Arbitre de hockey, depuis les championnats du monde 1957 jusqu'au milieu des années 1970 en Bundesliga.
Il a tenu pendant 40 ans un magasin de boissons près de la gare de Wessling.
Sa santé s'est détériorée dans les 20 dernières années de sa vie et il est décédé à l'hôpital local de Tutzing.
