He was born in Winnipeg, MB, and grew up in the West End.
Attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute in Winnipeg.
Robust and almost complete player who could play both as a forward and defender.
Swift skater with good tactical sense. Played a couple of seasons in England.
Spent the majority of his playing career with the Winnipeg Maroons.
Great allround athlete who turned down a baseball offer in 1948 from Philadelphia Athletics to pursue his degree as a chartered accountant.
Also a very good (American) football player, being an All-Star quarterback.
In ice hockey he turned down numerous pro contract offers in order to get his degree as a chartered account. In 1970 he was the finalist for Manitoba’s Athlete of the Century.
Sustained a serious eye injury during his playing career. Retired in 1967.
Was later the vice president and general manager of Supercrete Ltd.
Passed away at the Riverview Health Centre.

Joueur robuste et presque complet qui pouvait jouer attaquant ou défenseur.
Patineur véloce avec un bon sens tactique. Il a joué deux saisons en Angleterre.
Il a passé la majorité de sa carrière de joueur avec les Winnipeg Maroons.
Sportif polyvalent qui a décliné une offre de baseball des Philadelphia Athletics en 1948 pour continuer ses études d'expert-comptable.
Il était aussi un très bon joueur de football (américain), quaterback all-star.
Dans le hockey sur glace il a refusé de nombreux contrats pro pour avoir son diplôme d'expert-comptable. En 1970 il fut finaliste au titre de Sportif du siècle au Manitoba.
Il a subi une grave blessure à l'œil au cours de sa carrière de joueur. Retraité en 1967.
Il fut ensuite vice-président et directeur général de Supercrete Ltd (entreprise de construction d'immeubles commerciaux).
Décédé au Centre de Santé Riverview.
