Freddie moved to Ontario in Canada at the age of three in late August 1923.
Returned to England 1937 at the age of 17.
In 1946 he founded Dunkelman & Son Ltd, later known as Dasco Shoe Care, in Battersea to manufacture and sell ice hockey sticks, but also went into the shoe trade in 1950 and to a new location in Desborough in 1969.
In 1963 he gave sticks free of charge to the British national team who struggled to pay their trip to the Stockholm B-Pool World Championships.
He retired from the business after 61 years in 2007.
Died peacefully in his sleep.

Freddie a déménagé au Canada (Ontario) à l'âge de 3 ans à la fin août 1923.
Il est retourné en Angleterre en 1937 17 ans.
En 1946 il a fondé l'entreprise Dunkelman & Son Ltd - ultérieurement appelée Dasco Shoe Care - à Battersea pour confectionner et vendre des crosses de hockey sur glace, puis l'a étendue au commerce de chaussures en 1950 et sur un nouvel emplacement à Desborough en 1969.
En 1963 c'est lui qui a fourni gratuitement les crosses de l'équipe de Grande-Bretagne qui peinait déjà à financer son voyage pour le Mondial B à Stockholm.
Il s'est retiré des affaires après 61 années en 2007.
Mort paisiblement dans son sommeil.
