Began playing ice hockey at the age of six. He grew up in Norrtälje, a suburb to Stockholm.
His first club was Handens SK, but changed to Djurgårdens IF when he was ten.
He played there until he was 14, then he switched to another Stockholm based club, Hammarby IF. After six seasons in Hammarby, he returned to Djurgården.
Three-time champion with Djurgården. Also played for Södertälje, Malmö and in Rosenheim, Germany. Nicknamed „Chippe“.
He was one of the smallest defensemen on the international stage when he was active (5‘7“ - 170 cm). Positionally sound defenseman who always played within his limitations, never trying to be fancy or do too much with the puck.
Scored 155 (53+102) career points in 626 Swedish Elitserien games and 60 (16+44) points in 111 German DEL games.
After his retirement as a player, stayed in hockey working in the marketing department for Djurgårdens IF.

Il a commencé le hockey sur glace à 6 ans. Il a grandi à Norrtälje, une banlieue de Stockholm.
Son premier club était le Handens SK, mais il est parti au Djurgårdens IF à 10 ans.
Il y a joué jusqu'à ses 14 ans, avant de passer dans un autre club de Stockholm, Hammarby IF. Après six saisons à Hammarby, il est retourné à Djurgården.
Trois fois champion avec Djurgården. Il a aussi joué pour Södertälje, Malmö et à Rosenheim, Allemagne. Surnommé "Chippe".
Il était un des plus petits défenseurs sur la scène internationale à son époque (170 cm). Défenseur au positionnement sûr qui connaissait ses limites et n'essayait jamais d'en faire trop avec le palet.
155 (53+102) points en 626 matches d'Elitserien suédoise et 60 (14+44) points en 111 matches de DEL allemande.
Après sa retraite de joueur, il est resté dans le hockey en travaillant dans le marketing pour le Djurgårdens IF.
