His father was from Windsor, NS and worked as a foreman for Tadanac in Trail, BC.
Bill captained University of Alberta between 1946-48.
Represented Canada (Sudbury Wolves) at the 1949 World Championships.
In the early 1950s he played in the Montreal City Senior League.
Had a Masters degree in chemical engineering. Worked for CIL in Montreal. Then worked for Canso Chemicals near Pictou, NS.
He took up Curling in 1960 and won five senior mixed Nova Scotia curling championships: from 1979 through 1982, and again in 1983 and ’84.
Until his death in 2016, he was an active curler for Bluenose Curling Club.

Bill était le capitaine de l'Université d'Alberta entre 1946 et 1948.

Il a commencé le curling en 1960 et remporté cinq championnats séniors mixtes de Nouvelle-Écosse : de 1979 à 1981, puis en 1983 and 1984.
Jusqu'à sa mort en 2016, il restait un joueur actif du Bluenose Curling Club.
