His grandfather was Italian (named Di Barbora). He was also a good football player.
Studied music and drama in Bratislava and graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts. After his studies he began working for the Slovakian National Theatre and then Opera.
Became an actor and performed on stage, radio and TV. Was especially popular doing comedy, and was dubbed “King of parody”. Created more than 180 playwright characters.
Was a regional and national football champion, but switched to ice hockey where he became a goaltender. Played for I. CsSK Bratislava and VŠ Bratislava.
Due to his theatre roles, the theatre managers decided that he couldn’t risk any injuries, so he had to give up his promising sports career. Represented Slovakia in ice hockey three times.
His great passion were cars and he died in a car accident when his car was hit in a roundabout. He succumbed to his injuries a few days later.

Son grand-père était italien (nommé Di Barbora). C'était aussi un bon footballeur.
Il a étudié la musique et le théâtre à Bratislava et a été diplômé le l'Académie des Arts Dramatiques. Après ses études, il a commencé à travailler pour le Théâtre National Slovaque puis à l'Opéra.
Il est devenu acteur, sur scène, à la radio et à la télévision. Il était surtout populaire dans le registre de la comédie, et a été surnommé le "roi de la parodie". Il a créé plus de 180 personnages.
Il était champion régional et national en football, mais a bifurqué vers le hockey sur glace où il est devenu gardien. Il a joué pour le I. CsSK Bratislava et le VŠ Bratislava.
En raison de ses rôles, les directeurs de théâtre ont décidé qu'il ne pouvait risquer de blessures, il a donc dû abandonner sa carrière sportive prometteuse. Trois sélections pour la Slovaquie en hockey sur glace.
Les voitures étaient sa grande passion et il est mort d'un accident de la route quand sa voiture a été percutée dans un rond-point. Il a succombé à ses blessures quelques jours plus tard.
