Hard-nosed, puck-moving defenseman. Short but stocky and powerful. Using his low center of gravity to his advantage in a similar fashion as Darius Kasparaitis.
Excellent skater with both mobility and speed, compensating for his lack of height and reach. Smart decisions on the breakout, with the ability to join the rush and support the attack.
Good at getting open around the tops of circles. Drafted in the NHL by Boston Bruins 2010. Part of the Russian World championship winning team in 2014.

Défenseur dur au mal, qui aime remonter le palet. Pas très grand (1,81m) mais râblé, puissant, apte à utiliser à bon escient son centre de gravité peu élevé. En cela, il ressemble à Darius Kasparaitis.
Patinage de haut niveau, mobile et rapide, toutes qualités qui, chez Chudinov, compensent son manque d'envergure. Bon jugement dans les situations tangentes, monte intelligemment quand son équipe a besoin de lui.
Se place et se démarque bien en haut des cercles. Drafté par les Bruins en 2010 sans rejoindre la grande ligue. Champion du monde 2014 avec la Russie.
